The meaning of apachita relates to a pile of stones made by ancient walkers in some trails along the Andes, mainly in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. The apachitas have a strong poetic sense; they were a kind of fatigue deposits, a milestone and a record of the people who passed by the path. This sculpture is a tribute to this constructions that can still be seen in in certain points of the Andes.
